This is a major election issue and one that will matter to voters across the island not just those on the east coast!

The in-person hearings for the Mooir Vannin Offshore Wind Farm application came to a close today.

It has been a long and demanding week, but one that has brought significant issues surrounding the proposal into the open.

The inquiries provided an important opportunity to scrutinise the evidence question the applicant, and ensure that local voices have been heard. Although the in-person hearings have now finished the inquiry itself is not over. There is still an opportunity to submit written submissions before the September closing date, so if there are matters you believe the examining body should consider there’s still time to have your say.

If you only have time to watch one hearing, I would encourage you to watch today’s proceedings - they provide an excellent insight into the key issues that emerged during the inquiry, and the level of scrutiny being applied to this nationally significant proposal.

I would also recommend watching the former treasury minister, Dr Allinsons submission to the inquiry which many people may find surprising.
